Shimmer's vicious and grotesque display of a debut LP is, in regard to these qualities, a rather accessible one. This No-Wave/ Noise Punk/ Anti-Sludge supergroup swell out of the sewers of Brooklyn and create a powerful slumbering dirge that is somehow all to relatable at this point in time. Shimmer are a supergroup, featuring members of Palberta, Tredicci Bacci, and the Cradle from New York's undeniable art/noise rock/bizarro scene. Shimmer manage to take the listener through a dynamic nightmare-turned-comedy through ten songs in a mere 21 minutes. This is noise rock like they used to make it - lacking convention and full of conviction, birthing forward inspirations and ideas.
