(12' EP) Lambchop's Kurt Wagner teams with Nashville's blue-eyed soul man of mystery, the Altered Statesman (aka Steve Poulton), on their collaboration, Something Missing. Recording. Included on this gorgeous sounding piece of vinyl (45rpm), are two previously recorded versions of songs, If Not I'll Just Die, and Buttons on Lambchop's current full length, Mr. M. Respective sides showcase a sort of call and response between Wagner's unique gravelly voice and the Statesman's croon. The resulting EP is a soulful, atmospheric record that encourages the listener to indulge in it's depths, and just when it arrives at that heavy, velvet place, it leaves the ears aching for more.
